Since 2018, SLURP has been involved in cooking and serving food for people experiencing homelessness and members of the wider Edinburgh community. We currently work with Bethany Christian Trust, providing meals for one of their shelters up to seven days a week, and work with Leith Community Centre, running a community cafe once a week. We have recently started a hot food handout around Central Edinburgh!
No experience is required. We’ll tell you everything you need to know before your first session, and one of our volunteer coordinators will be there to support you throughout.

We are always looking for more locations where we can make a difference. If you have a community space, kitchen, organisation, shelter, or project where SLURP could help cook or distribute food, we would love to hear from you.
